Reverie Dream Mattress Rated
- Good for Bad Backs?
The Reverie Dream mattress line is full of some of the most high-tech and luxurious latex mattresses on the market. They’re highly customizable and can evolve as your sleeping preferences do — even if you prefer a different firmness level to your partner!
The drawback? These babies don’t come cheap. This is a long-term investment into your sleep health.
If you’re looking to invest in a quality bed in order to get the best night’s sleep, there’s a good chance that you’ve considered the Reverie mattress.
High-tech, customizable and, yes, expensive, the Reverie Dream mattress line is really one of the major players in sleep innovation right now.
Offering both comfort and support in spades, it’s no wonder that these products are so popular — even at their high price points.
We’ve put Reverie to the test to see if the benefits of their DreamCell™ foam spring engineering are really worth the cost, and who might benefit from a Reverie mattress.
Let’s take it away…
What is the Reverie Mattress?
Reverie are a bed and mattress manufacturer who sell customizable sleep systems, designed to ensure a quality night’s sleep, night after night.
Each sleep system is composed of a mattress and an adjustable foundation, also called the power base. You can also buy these separately.
When we talk about ‘the Reverie mattress’, we’re actually referring to their whole product line of mattresses — don’t worry, we’ll help you decide which one is best for you below.
Each Reverie mattress is engineered using their patented DreamCell™ foam springs technology. You can manually adjust the firmness level of the mattress by adjusting and rearranging these springs, and even individualize each side of the bed if you and your sleeping partner have different mattress preferences.
The company was founded in 2003, and produces and distributes their products from their facilities in Michigan and New York. This is a real, American-made company.
Reverie Dream Mattress: Models
There are 4 different types of Reverie Dream mattress available:
Dream Supreme I Natural Mattress
This amazing mattress is manufactured from all-natural latex which gives it a light, buoyant feel.
The 11” foam spring support mattress is customizable for your individual firmness preferences on each side of the bed, and can be easily reconfigured to adapt to your changing needs over time. It features a plush 3” natural latex layer to relieve pressure points whilst retaining maximum comfort.
The latex is naturally anti-microbial and dust mite resistant, and the breathable cover has moisture wicking properties to ensure your body remains dry and at the correct temperature throughout the night.
Dream Supreme II Natural Mattress
Like the Dream Supreme I, this luxurious Reverie mattress is made from all-natural latex and benefits from the patented 6” foam spring system to allow for re-adjustable dual firmness and to eliminate motion transfer.
It also comes equipped with a 3″ latex comfort layer and is naturally hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant.
At 12″ it is a little more plush, and has a woven removable cashmere cover to wick away moisture and keep you feeling cool and comfortable during the night.
The design of the mattress construction also allows for natural airflow which also helps keep a stable temperature through the night.
This mattress is also available in a split head design allowing you to elevate the mattress independently on both sides so you can read or watch TV in comfort without disturbing the sleep of your partner.
Dream Supreme I Hybrid Mattress
If you like the soft feel of memory foam but also want the breathability of latex, the Dream Supreme I Hybrid mattress is a good choice. It’s composed of 5″ of all-natural OEKO-TEX certified latex with a 2″ memory foam layer for optimal support underneath.
The mattress is 11” thick and features customizable reconfigurable firmness on both sides due to the foam spring system. It also comes with the breathable soft woven cover and is hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant due to the natural latex mattress topper.
This mattress is also available in a split head design.
Dream Supreme II Hybrid Mattress
Similar to the other mattresses in the Reverie Dream Supreme range, the Hybrid II benefits from all the great features plus the combination of memory foam and latex, which means that you can have the feel of memory foam but without the excess heat that often comes from sleeping on it.
This Reverie Dream Supreme Sleep mattress is slightly more luxurious than the Hybrid I as it has an extra inch of height and a cashmere blend removable cover.
Reverie Mattress Review
We are all unique, and Reverie have designed their mattresses to fit the individual needs of you and your partner — even as those needs evolve over time.
This is possible thanks to their patented DreamCell™ foam springs technology, which allows you to rearrange and adjust the mattress to your own desired firmness level.
This ingenious foam spring technology also provides targeted firmness precisely where you need it to better align with your spine. This customizability means both you and your partner can sleep in maximum comfort, and the design also increases airflow to keep temperature optimal.
Minimal Motion Transfer
The light sleepers among you will be well aware of the perils of sleeping alongside another person. As soon as they turn over in bed, you feel the reverberations through the mattress and are jolted awake once more.
Not with the Reverie mattress — the highly attuned engineering ensures that any motion transfer is minimal and silent. Just because your partner is tossing and turning, doesn’t mean that you have to!
Natural Latex Benefits
All of the mattresses in the Reverie Dream Supreme Sleep line are composed of natural latex.
Not only does this provide you with contoured comfort and support that keeps its shape much better than foam alternatives, but it also means that the mattress is hypoallergenic, thanks to latex’s antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.
Another major benefit of natural latex is that it keeps cool all through the night. No more night sweats!
Memory Foam Hybrid Option
If you’re strongly attached to the supportive qualities of memory foam, however, you don’t have to give them up if you buy a Reverie mattress.
Their new hybrid designs combine both natural latex with a 2″ thick layer of memory foam underneath for maximum support and a velvet luxury feel.
By keeping the upper layer of natural latex, you’re benefiting from the material’s breathability and ventilation. One of the major criticisms of memory foam is how hot it can become overnight, so this hybrid design is really on top of the innovation curve.
Other Things We Love
- Available in a wide range of sizes from twin to California king
- Available in both standard and split head design
- Covered by a 10 year limited warranty
- 101 day trial period
The Reverie Dream mattress line undoubtedly contains some of the best mattresses on the market, but there are a couple of issues to consider before you splash the cash.
One of the most common complaints heard about the Reverie mattress is that they’re expensive.
Currently retailing from $1,499 to $5,599 on their website, these bad boys don’t come cheap. Especially when compared to other mattresses available online.
We’d recommend seeing a Reverie mattress as an investment into your health and happiness. A good night sleep is guaranteed — if you’re not prepared to spend money on that, then what are you spending money on instead?
Split Head Design
Users are split (excuse the pun) over the split head design that the Reverie mattress is available in.
While some people love how individualized and separate, while still being together, this makes the two halves of the bed, others find the small gap created between the head to be too much distance from their partner.
It’s hard to tell if this will be a deal breaker for you without testing it first. Thankfully, the long 101 day trial period should be enough time to find out!
Overall Verdict on the Reverie Mattress
If you’re willing to make an investment, we wholeheartedly recommend the Reverie Mattress.
The product line is probably home to the most sophisticated latex mattresses on the market, and given the fact that we spend one third of our lives in bed we think it’s worth the price.
Based on the matchless customizable technology and the excellent customer reviews we would recommend a Reverie mattress to anyone needing quality sleep – particularly those who suffer from back pain, injuries, pregnant women, the elderly or those who require a completely separate level of comfort to their partner.
And thanks to that 101 day trial period, you’ve got nothing to lose!
Where to Buy the Reverie Dream Mattress
Your first port of call for a Reverie Dream Supreme Sleep mattress should be their website, where they stock all mattresses, power bases and complete sleep systems.
A few Reverie sleep systems are also available on Amazon too.
