Nectar Sleep Mattress Rated
HTS Verdict
Super supportive, wonderfully comfortable, cool and a great price — I highly recommend the Nectar Mattress.
It also comes with a 365 night trial period — ideal if you’re tempted but don’t know if it’ll suit your sleeping style. Be aware that it may not be the right fit for people who want a super plush sleeping experience and a bit of bounce.

The Nectar Mattress (available on Nectar) is one of the most popular mattresses in the US right now.
It hits that perfect Goldilocks point of offering deep comfort alongside firm support in its 5 layers, and manages to stay cool all night long.
A word of warning though — this isn’t a soft, pillow-top mattress. I probably wouldn’t choose it if ‘plush’ is what you’re going for — the Nectar is really designed for people who value support above most other features.
I’ll get into the nitty gritty of what’s great about the mattress as well as things worth considering before you click that ‘Buy’ button.

The Positives
The two major features that we all want to see in our mattress are comfort and support.
The Nectar hits it out of the park on both of these fronts.
It’s a medium-firm feel and, as we’ll look at a bit closer, probably won’t be the ‘dream’ mattress for people who really want a plush, pillow-top experience. But if you do like a firmer base, I think you’ll love the Nectar.
Immediately, you’ll find it relieves any pressure points and the expert engineering works hard to align your shoulders, hips and legs for true spinal alignment. It’s just the support you need.
One of the most worrying things when you buy a memory foam mattress is whether it’s going to wake you up in the night with the sweats. This foam tends to be a real heat trap.
But not with the Nectar Mattress.
The cooling gel layer is true to its name and leaves the mattress cool to the touch. Combined with the nonstop air flow made possible by the breathable layers, it’s always a cool night’s sleep.
As far as mattresses go, Nectar offers one of the longest trial periods out there.
Their mattress can be tested out for a full year, and if you aren’t satisfied then, you’re free to return it with a full refund. This is pretty much unheard of in the mattress world, even for much more expensive mattresses.
Enough said!
The warranty for this mattress lasts so long it’s like it lasts forever… which it does!
More specifically, you can send the mattress in for a full replacement within one to five years if there is a defect. After the fifth year, you can send the mattress in to be repaired.
The bed is designed to not sink, but if it does, you can send it in for repair. If this is impossible, then you get a free replacement.
The warranty also covers the replacement of any cover that gets worn out – just call.
Basically, if you have any issues, contact Nectar and they should be able to handle it.
The good thing about Nectar is that shipping is free, whether you receive the mattress, send the mattress back for a refund, send it back for a replacement, or send it back for repair.
This removes the headache from having to negotiate with post offices or delivery services.
Mattresses come to your door in a duffel-bag like carrier and is compressed which reduces the amount of tugging and lugging you’ll have to do to get it totally set up.
Nectar also offers a “white glove” service where you can request for the set-up of the mattress as well as the removal of your old mattress when your new Nectar mattress arrives.
Here’s a video showing what the Nectar Mattress looks like right out the package:
You don’t want to wake your partner every time you get out of bed, or vice versa.
The Nectar mattress is structured so motion transfer is minimal, ensuring you’ll have a more peaceful night’s sleep.
Bedbugs are pests you don’t want anywhere near your mattress.
They bite you all over and they’re hard to get rid of. Most of the time, you have to throw out your mattress and fumigate the area.
The Nectar mattress is both bedbug and dust mite resistant, so you’ll never wake up to small, itchy sores and tiny bugs crawling all over you in the morning – no matter what happens.
I’ve been testing mattresses for years, and this is a very rare, premium feature.
Like most mattresses you’ll be wanting to buy, the Nectar Mattress is CertiPUR-US certified.
This means that no harmful materials or chemicals were used to make the mattress and is free of formaldehyde, heavy metals or other materials that could be harmful to you or the environment.
Their mattresses use a low volatile organic compound which simply means they’re trying to increase the air quality you have indoors.
They also commit to using more natural products like eucalyptus and aloe which helps fight off the heat and nasty pests.
The Nectar offers incredible value for money in my opinion. While it’s not the cheapest memory foam mattress you can find, it offers a hell of a lot of bang for its buck.
Had I tested this mattress before seeing the price tag, I would have assumed it was hundreds of dollars more expensive than it is.
But these mattresses are relatively cheap, and even the most expensive ones (the King and California King) are available at a competitive price.
The Negatives
While I found the Nectar Mattress to be a truly comfortable night’s sleep, I’m not sure that I would agree with their assertion that it offers universal comfort.
For those that prefer a plush, sleeping-on-a-cloud feeling, the Nectar will possibly be a touch too firm.
As I mentioned before, the Nectar really prioritizes support and, with that, comes a more robust feel. Personally, I think that’s a good thing — but only you will know exactly what you want in a bed.
If you’re looking for a mattress that’s got that plush feel while still retaining an excellent support structure, take a look at the Sealy Response Premium. It’s a little more expensive but a worthy investment.
As with many memory foam mattresses that prioritize minimal motion transfer, the Nectar is a little lacking in bounce.
This isn’t a dealbreaker, but definitely something to be aware of before you buy.
If bounce is important to you, check out the Tuft & Needle Mattress. It’s also a premium foam mattress but has a nice bit of resistant bounce on it.
Yet another feature that’s incredibly common with memory foam mattresses, is the initial off-gassing smell when you first unpack the Nectar.
This is simply the release of the odors that are compressed during the manufacturing and packing stage. Although a little strong at first, they should dissipate quickly. Make sure you leave a window open when you leave it to expand.
Nectar Sleep Mattress: The Details
These specifications are for the Queen-sized mattress.
- Dimensions: 60”x80”x11”
- Item Weight: 74 lbs
- Available in: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, and California King
Material Composition
Each layer of the Nectar Mattress is constructed with memory foam to ensure a relaxing feel, but each layer also fulfills a distinct purpose.
The second layer is a fully quilted gel memory foam layer that provides extra comfort, loft, and breathability. This section contours to the shape of your body and contributes to the luxurious softness of the upper layer of the mattress.
Premium, medical grade memory foam makes up the third layer of this mattress.
It assists in weight distribution and pressure relief, while its semi-open lush foam helps redistribute heat.
Basically, this layer is made with materials that help to move heat away from you while you sleep.
It converts back to its untouched state once you remove your body weight, so every time you get out of bed, it will look and feel as the day you first got it.
This inner fourth layer serves to contour to the pressure points of your body.
Because of its heavy weight, Hi-Core memory foam is hard to ship.
While this deters other companies, Nectar uses this to their advantage as no other direct-to-consumer mattress has this foam.
The base layer is dense yet breathable, drawing fresh air through specialized channels.
It’s the densest, most breathable material on the market and the main reason why Nectar backs their mattresses with a forever warranty.
Nectar: The Brand
Nectar is a 100% employee-owned company that has been in business for a little over 15 years.
For that span of time, they’ve developed thousands of memory foam mattresses with the goal of “building the most comfortable bed possible.”
This brand’s business model is to cut out the middleman and send mattresses straight from the factory to the homes of consumers, making their products cheaper without sacrificing quality.
Overall Verdict
I’m a huge fan of the Nectar Mattress and would recommend it to anyone after a medium-firm supportive mattress that stays cool all night long — all for an excellent price.
My only caveat would be not to fall for their ‘universal comfort’ claim if you’re actually after a plush, pillow-top softness. While the Nectar is super comfortable, those looking for ultra-plush likely won’t be as satisfied.
If you’re on the fence, the year long trial makes it easier to make a final decision, and it’s hard to argue with a Forever Warranty!

Hi, can you tell me how the mattress is sent back during the free trial if not wanted?
