Weekender Hybrid Mattress Rated
HTS Verdict
The Weekender Hybrid Mattress is a supportive, comfortable, and affordable solution to getting a good night’s sleep.
Be aware that it is quite a firm mattress and doesn’t have any of the plush softness that you might associate with a more expensive, luxury mattress.
But it’s hard to argue with that price…
Pros
- Excellent price

- Supportive
- Easy shipping and set-up
- No off-gassing
- Eases joint pain
- Localized bounce and minimal motion transfer
- Good for most bed frames
Cons

- Not a ‘luxury’ mattress
The Weekender 10 Inch Hybrid Mattress (available on Amazon) is proving ultra popular right now with people who want a quality hybrid mattress on a budget.
Considering its low price, the Weekender is an impressive bit of kit — although be aware that it’s definitely on the firmer side, which some of you may find off-putting. But its smart design, good support and localized bounce have definitely won me over.

The Positives
A problem many people find with foam mattresses is that they are too soft.
Sinking into a cloud may be how some prefer to sleep, but many of us don’t enjoy the feeling of being consumed by layers of foam – like Indiana Jones getting sucked into a pit of quicksand.
The Weekender is an excellent solution for those that want the comfort of foam, yet need the support of a firmer mattress.
A perfect hybrid, this bed is constructed with layers of coils, memory foam, and comfort foam.
The firmness of the coils ensures that your neck and spine are aligned in the correct position all night long while the top layers of memory foam work to provide pressure relief.
Anyone with joint pain will really benefit from a hybrid mattress like this, as it eases tension in the right places while not forcing you into uncomfortable positions.
Since it’s firmer than most memory foam mattresses, it allows for added support, reducing the pain some people get from a softer mattress.
It’s perfect for side sleepers too, taking the pressure off your joints, and allowing you to have an undisturbed sleep.
Hauling a mattress around, even a vacuum-packed one, is no easy task, especially if you are flying solo.
Thankfully, Weekender packages this mattress in a way that, even though it weighs a fair bit, is easier than most to cart up stairs.
Curled up like a Swiss Roll, the Weekender hybrid mattress can be easily picked up – though you’ll feel the burn in your biceps!
This forethought in shipping is great for protecting the mattress itself during the… rougher moments in delivery. Even if the box arrives battered, the mattress will be perfectly fine.
To set it up, you’ll just need to bring it to the bedroom (or wherever you plan to sleep on it) get it into place and unwrap.
Light sleepers usually struggle with partners that shift around in the night. Every tiny jostle makes the mattress act like a bowl of jelly, jerking you or your partner awake.
For this reason, foam mattresses are a bit of a holy grail for light sleepers. How so, you ask? They make very little noise and contain movement extremely well.
The Weekender has perfected this as well, crafting the ideal environment for light sleepers and keeping any bounce localized; plus, the coils are all wrapped and near silent, so they won’t creak and groan as you move.
A mattress like this is great for those that keep odd hours, too. You won’t be woken up by your partner when they rise for an early morning shift at work.
Another benefit of bounce is it provides the perfect bit of resistance you might need for any other bedtime activities. There’s nothing worse than sinking in when you want to be up and about! 😉
It would be remiss of me not to mention that probably the most important reason for the Weekender Hybrid’s popularity is its low low price.
Walk into any mattress store and you’ll find just about every foam bed option costs well over a few hundred dollars. Some even cost a thousand, or more.
That’s all the more reason to look online for a quality hybrid mattress! The Weekender is one of the better cheap hybrid mattresses I’ve tested and it’s available for just a few hundred dollars.
Outfitting a guest room or upgrading your own bedroom while on a budget is a whole lot easier. This could also be a good option for students looking to outfit a dorm on the cheap.
And when you buy from Amazon, you’ll get free shipping as well. Once you consider that shipping depends on weight, you’ll realize how cost effective this is.
Unwrapping a vacuum-packed mattress often means waiting a full day for it to expand – longer still for the off-gassing smell to dissipate.
The Weekender, in addition to carrying barely any odor, expands to its full size in under three hours.
This is a small benefit but an important one, especially if, for whatever reason, you can’t use your old mattress and don’t want to spend another night on the couch.
Unwrap the mattress, go way and watch a movie, come back, and find your mattress ready to go! This is the kind of speed I like to see.
It is a good idea, too, to unwrap and unfurl the Weekender on the frame where it will sit. As it expands so fast, you can make quick adjustments to how it is positioned before it becomes too large to easily move.
This is great news for anyone who already has a bed frame that does the trick. You won’t have to go looking, or shelling out extra cash for a base to fit the Weekender Hybrid.
It’s made to fit most and almost any frame including metal frames, slatted frames, and box frames. You won’t have to compromise your current base (or bedroom style) to accommodate this bed.
Or, if you prefer to take a more minimalistic approach, the Weekender mattress is just as fine sitting on its own.
While it suits adjustable beds too, it might not be flexible enough to suit all adjustable bases. Though should you test it out, you’ll still have a money-back guarantee if your efforts fail.
This is an important note for everyone, but especially if you have children – whether they like to join you in bed, or they’re lucky enough to be getting a Weekender mattress of their own.
The Weekender Hybrid Mattress is certified by CertiPUR meaning it hasn’t been made without harmful materials and ozone depleters, and it leaves out heavy metals like lead and mercury.
CertiPUR puts mattresses through rigorous testing before certifying them, so you can rest assured that this mattress isn’t harmful to you, your family, and the environment.
It’s even safe for babies!
The Negatives
Weekender markets the Hybrid as a medium-firm feel, but I’d say that it’s definitely closer to firm than medium. Fine for people after firm support, but I’d steer clear if you’re hoping for plushness.
So, if you are after a hybrid that retains the softness of full-foam option, this isn’t the one for you.
Remember, you could always test it out with a topper if you fancy a more pillow-top softness.
I’ve been very complimentary about the Weekender Hybrid, but I do want to be clear that this isn’t a luxury mattress so you shouldn’t expect one.
It certainly ticks the priority boxes of comfort and support but there’s none of the plush softness you expect with a more expensive mattress.
The Weekender definitely represents great value for money, but don’t buy it expecting it to be something it’s not.

Weekender: The Brand
Weekender Bedding create foam, innerspring and hybrid mattresses at rock bottom prices, as well as hotel-grade bedding.
Their low prices come about as their creations are direct from the factory, cutting out the costs and expenses of the middlemen that you usually get in the mattress supply chain.
Weekender was actually originally the hospitality line for Malouf, a brand famous for their luxury bedding, before going out on their own.
Overall Verdict
The Weekender 10 Inch Hybrid Mattress is a very impressive product considering its low price point. Few other mattresses out there can challenge its quality without inflating the cost.
Hybrid technology offers the comfort of foam and the support of coil, and it’s also conveniently shipped and easy to set-up as well.
My recommendation does come with the caveat, however, that it’s unsuitable for people who don’t like a firm mattress and it doesn’t have the plush softness of a more expensive model. But it’s great for the price.
