Sleep Tite By Malouf® Mattress Protector Review
- Fit and Construction
Hack To Sleep Rating
This is one of the bestselling mattress protectors on the market which does exactly what it says on the tin: protects you and your mattress. It’s waterproof and hypoallergenic with an impressively long warranty too.
Our one *tiny* niggle is that it does occasionally rustle if you’re tossing and turning.
It’s not often that we get excited about a mattress protector. But this Malouf Sleep Tite mattress protector is really hitting our buttons.
Forgive us: we’re sleep geeks.
It prides itself on being a waterproof and hypoallergenic product that protects both you and the mattress, without changing the comfort or feel of the mattress itself.
If anything, it actually improves your sleeping experience as it is constructed of a breathable fabric that sleeps cool. It’s incredibly absorbent and will repel liquids, including sweat, easily.
Also, it looks pretty damn good in its box packaging…

Does It Protect Your Mattress?
This question is always the most important thing to ask when it comes to purchasing a mattress protector.
After all, what would be the point if it didn’t?
Thankfully, we can confirm that the Malouf Sleep Tite Mattress Protector certainly goes above and beyond when it comes to protecting both you and the mattress.
Firstly, it fits your mattress easily with its elasticated fitted sides, and ensures the whole area is waterproofed.
Some mattress protectors don’t have waterproofed sides, which open them up to a whole load of stains and dampness if you accidentally spill something over the sides.
As well as being super absorbent — it can take a whole liter of liquid — thanks to its terry cloth cotton material, it also benefits from the amazing H2Pro Membrane which repels any liquid droplets.
Even heavy night sweaters or sleeping dribblers will find that their mattress remains dry and unstained with this protector doing it’s thing on top.
The membrane also ensures that any allergens — like skin flakes, dander, pollen and dust mites — are also repelled and that you’re safe from triggering any allergies.
As such, we highly recommend the Sleep Tite for people suffering from allergies, eczema and asthma.
How Comfortable Is It?
It’s worth noting that, like all traditional mattress protectors, the Sleep Tite is very thin and doesn’t add comfort and support the same way that a mattress pad or topper would.
Its primary goal is to protect your mattress, not provide you with a layer of extra comfort.
Having said that, it’s important that a mattress protector doesn’t make your mattress any less comfortable either.
Some of the cheap, low quality mattress protectors on the market are notorious for loudly rustling at the slightest movement, becoming clogged with sweat and dust or even changing the feel of your mattress completely.
But the Sleep Tite mattress protector avoids any of these transgressions. Instead, it makes your mattress an all-round better and more comfortable sleeping environment.
Its breathable material allows constant airflow around the protector, ensuring that there are no heat spots, while the thinness of the fabric conforms easily to the natural shape of the mattress without changing the way it feels.
Many buyers have recommended this mattress protector for use in conjunction with a memory foam mattress as you can still enjoy all the benefits of the memory foam without worrying about spoiling it with stains, spilled drinks or other mishaps.
The Malouf Sleep Tite will also effectively mask the distinctive pungent smell of the memory foam, which can be a little stinky.
There have been some reports of very mild rustling of the polyurethane membrane when you move during the night — hence why we’ve docked half a star from our ‘comfort’ rating below.
Reviewers agreed that the rustling certainly wasn’t loud enough to be a dealbreaker, and agree that Sleep Tite mattress protector can still call itself ‘quiet’, yet it wasn’t quite the ideal ‘silent’ that would have warranted 5 whole stars.
Overall Verdict on the Sleep Tite by Malouf®
We thoroughly recommended the Sleep Tite Mattress Protector and believe that it’s certainly one of the best mattress protectors on the market right now.
It’s reasonably priced but of an exceptionally high quality, guaranteeing a fresh and dry night’s sleep.
As well as being 100% waterproof, it’s also hypoallergenic, so it’s a great buy for anyone with allergies or skin sensitivities.
It’s not quite as silent as we would like, with a little rustling heard during nighttime tossing and turning, but the Sleep Tite is certainly comfortable.
