It’s Supremely Comfortable

The number one thing to consider before buying a pillow is how comfortable it is.

Now, obviously, comfort levels vary hugely from person to person, but we feel pretty confident that the majority of sleepers will be in sleepytime bliss with the GhostPillow.

As we’ve already mentioned, it’s been expertly engineered to hit the exact right note between soft and firm — plush to the touch, but robustly supportive.

Unless you prefer an extreme of soft or firm in your memory foam pillows, we think you’ll be more than happy with this. And will probably fall asleep quicker than you ever have before…

Great for Back, Neck and Shoulder Pain

So, how does this immediate cooling technology actually work?

According to Entrepreneur magazine, microcapsules within the ‘phase change layer’ will turn into liquid when it hits a certain temperature. This liquid will then work to absorb the heat emanating from your body, storing it away from your body.

This works the other way too: when the temperature drops on cold nights, the microcapsules will transform back into solids and will release that stored heat to help you warm right back up again.

Fresh, Lavender Scent

One of our favorite features of the GhostPillow is that it always seems so fresh and new.

This is partly down to the lavender scent infusion — don’t worry, it’s very subtle and not overpowering in the slightest.

Not only does this keep things smelling good all night, but lavender is well known for its relaxation and sleep inducing properties. You’ll be having a wonderful night’s sleep in no time at all!

Designer Box

Just a little thing, but yet another detail that really pushes the GhostPillow into luxury territory, is the fact that it’s delivered in an attractive designer box.

Not only does it feel even more like a special purchase, but also it makes it the perfect gift.

The Negatives

While there’s a lot to love about the GhostPillow, there are a couple of drawbacks that you should be aware of before you buy.

Embroidered Logo

We weren’t too bothered by this, but if you’re particularly fussy or have sensitive skin, it may be worth bearing in mind.

The brand name and logo is embroidered on the sleeping side of the GhostPillow — and it’s a pretty big logo.

If you are likely to be irritated by it, it’s probably worth buying an additional pillow case to be placed over the top. Of course, then you’re missing out on the moisture wicking quality of the performance fabric!

If only the company had embroidered their logo on the side instead…

It’s Expensive

It’s certainly not the most expensive pillow we’ve ever tested, but the GhostPillow is definitely up there at the top of the market in expensive pillows.

Is it worth it? We would say yes — particularly if you suffer from back/neck/shoulder pain and like to have a continually cool pillow — but obviously its high price tag will automatically exclude a lot of people from buying it.

Might Take Some Time to Adjust

We found that it took a few nights of sleep to really find the comfort in the GhostPillow. It takes some time to get used to the firm support and find what works for you.

This is especially true if you’re coming to this straight from a very soft, plush pillow — this will probably feel very firm in comparison!

But give it some time and we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

The company offers a 100-night trial when you buy through Amazon and we’d recommend that you take advantage of it (not that it should take you anywhere near that long to decide if it works for you or not!).

Overall Verdict

Overall, we highly recommend the GhostPillow. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and support, stays cool all night, and is a lifesaver for people who suffer from back, neck or shoulder pain.

Yes, it’s definitely expensive and it might take some time to get used to it, but we think the high price tag is justified by the excellent specs and the all-round comfort of the product.
