FLIP by Nest Bedding Rated
- Good for Bad Backs?
It will be hard to find this mattress anything but comfortable. What’s better? It’s supportive too!
The FLIP by Nest Bedding Mattress is an easily adjustable bed that gives you a customized sleep in a flip. With a 30-day trial and a long warranty, there’s little to risk.
If you’re in the market for a bed, you know it’s difficult to find one that suits any kind of sleeper – without costing an arm and a leg.
The good news? That problem may have been solved with the FLIP by Nest Bedding mattress. It comes with a medium and a firm side, is supportive and comfortable and works for all sleeping positions.
Unfortunately, not everyone is after the same thing when it comes to a mattress. Some users may find it to be very heavy, or if you have a sensitive nose, the odor on arrival might be annoying.
The question is: are these deal-breakers for you or minor inconveniences? Does this mattress live up to the hype despite would-be downfalls?
Before you make your final decision, let’s take a closer look at the FLIP by Nest Bedding mattress.

This is all surrounded by the quilted foam cover, made of a 400 GSM polyester and spandex blend.
The cover is not removable, so you’ll have to spot clean the mattress if spills or accidents happen.

Stand Out Features
- Flip For Comfort: Nest Bedding has made this bed uniquely “flippable”. Each side has its own firmness level so you can adjust this mattress to your preference. You’ll have a choice between medium and firm.
- Stays Cool: Thanks to the gel layer on the FLIP mattress, you won’t be worried about sleeping hot or humid nights. This mattress will stay cool so you can stay rested.
- 30 Night Trial: You’ll have a full thirty days to figure out if this mattress is worth keeping. If not, simply contact FLIP for a return – it’s a lot easier than you think.
While comfort is subjective, we’re happy to report that the FLIP by Nest Bedding mattress is absolutely luxurious.
With the cooling Visco gel, the 660 gauge caliber coils, and the memory foam, this bed has something for everyone’s needs.
As a unique feature, if one side isn’t to your liking, you can flip it to the other. No need to purchase a different bed or rely on mattress pads to compensate; this bed can be switched to suit your preference for the night.
This makes the FLIP easily adaptable to a variety of sleeping styles. There’s little chance of your sleep being uncomfortable because you sleep a certain way with this mattress.
The FLIP mattress isn’t just comfortable – it’s supportive too. The support foam and coils ensure your body is cushioned and steadied no matter which side you pick.
The medium side will provide pressure relief, so there’s no danger of waking up with a sore back, neck, hips, or shoulders. The firm side offers even more support with a less plush feel, giving you that extra stability to better align your spine.
There’s also a strong degree of edge support, both in the firm and medium sides of the mattress. Don’t worry about rolling out of the bed or sliding off when you sit down to put on shoes in the morning. It’s steady and secure.
Supportive beds are also great when you’re ill or in recovery. They help in ensuring you stay completely supported and rested so you’ll be back on your feet quicker!
One of the best and most unique qualities of the FLIP mattress is that it features two different firmness levels in one product.
Most coil mattresses can be flipped when one side becomes less supportive, but not many hybrid mattresses give you two options of support.
With the FLIP, one side is medium firmness, so if you like to sleep on a softer mattress, this is for you. The other side is much firmer, so if that’s your preference, they got you covered as well.
This feature also makes this bed great for guest rooms – you’ll never have an uncomfortable guest.
Great for All Sleepers
Speaking of this mattress being flippable, we loved that with the FLIP mattress it doesn’t matter what position you sleep in; this mattress will support and cushion you in any case.
Since there are two different sides to the mattress with different firmness levels, side, back, and stomach sleepers can have exactly the mattress they need.
Be warned: if you’re a back sleeper and your partner is a side sleeper, you may have to do some compromising. Otherwise, this mattress is good for any and all sleeping positions.
The medium side is great for side sleepers and both sides work for back and stomach sleepers so all it takes to adjust the bed to you is a quick flip.
Amazingly Affordable Price Tag
While the FLIP by Nest Bedding mattress isn’t the least expensive mattress on the market, it’s definitely more affordable than other, similar models.
With gel memory foam and coils, along with the option to flip the mattress depending on your firmness preferences, you might expect this mattress to be near $1,000.
Luckily, it’s priced at under $500 on Amazon. Breaking the bank isn’t a necessity to enjoy a great, customized night’s sleep.
This price-tag means you’ll probably even be able to purchase a couple of these for your home, so everyone can have a quality night’s sleep.
Honorable Customer Service
A company that has a warranty shows that they not only back their product but care about their customers too! To make the decision and buying process easy, Nest Bedding gives customers thirty days to try out the mattress to find out if it’s right for them.
Five minutes isn’t really enough to get a good feel of a new mattress, but thirty days gives you the freedom to really test it out and make sure it’s a fit for your life.
If after the trial you find out this mattress isn’t for you, the return process is super easy too! Since their beds are available through Amazon, Nest Bedding utilizes Amazon’s easy customer return process.
And since Nest believes in giving back instead of filling landfills with unwanted mattresses, they allow bed donations to a friend, family or organization as a return. Just hang on to a donation receipt.
After that, you’ll have a 10-year limited warranty protecting you against any manufacturing errors. Should the mattress have issues out of your control, simply contact the company for a refund.
Almost everyone had one issue with this mattress: the weight. It is quite heavy at around 90 lbs. and that’s for the Queen size.
The King and California King will be even heavier. When setting it up, you’ll definitely need some help. If you live alone, maybe get a friend or a neighbor to help you put it on your box spring.
This goes for flipping it as well. Figure out which side you like the best before setting it up. Lay it out on one side, lay on it for a couple of minutes, and see how you feel.
If you decide to flip it, you’ll want someone to help. Even if you’re rather strong, the awkward bulk will make it a challenge.
Famous Memory Foam Odor
Unfortunately, memory foam mattresses do come with a chemical odor. The manufacturers have not figured out how to get rid of that yet.
The odor will go away after a couple of hours or, at most, a couple of days, but if you’re particularly sensitive to smells, a memory foam mattress may be a bit daunting.
A Bit of Sinking
There’s a chance of the mattress sinking after some time using it. Some testers felt this mattress was best suited to lighter people versus heavier people.
The sinkage and the weight issues have been a problem with memory foam mattresses in the past, so we’re not surprised to see a similar issue here.
While this won’t affect everyone, you’ll have the 30-day sleep trial and the 10-year warranty to back you should you find this occurring.
After going over all the positives and negatives, we do recommend the FLIP by Nest Bedding mattress.
Thanks to its two sides, it is both comfortable and supportive no matter your preferences. Very few mattresses can say the same.
While you will need someone to help move it, and you may want to air it out for a day or so, the positives far outweigh the negatives here.
If you’re looking for a new mattress or have been waking up feeling less than your best, then it’s absolutely worth trying out the FLIP; it promises great results.
Where to Buy the FLIP by Nest Bedding
You might not find Nest Bedding on the shelves of your usual department stores, but they have an impressive line of quality bedding from mattresses to pillows.
With that, they’ve also been receiving great customer feedback from both customers and enthusiasts. Even then, finding the FLIP by Nest Bedding Mattress will prove hard both in-store and online.
While it’s usually best to check home-department and bedding stores, you can kick-start your search with their website.
