Casper Pillow Rated
- Good for Bad Backs?
The Casper Pillow comes with all the comfort of a Casper Mattress. It’s supportive and easy to clean too, at a fraction of the cost of other pillows of its kind.
With just a few things to watch out for, the Casper Pillow might be your key to a good night’s sleep.
We spend one-third of our life sleeping, but doing so on the wrong bed and pillow can result in more damage to your health than good. How can you pick the right match for you?
To help your decision, today we’re evaluating the Casper Pillow. Based on what testers are saying, it’s comfortable, supportive, and, due to the removable cover, also easy to clean.
Even still, not everyone loves this pillow. Some complained about needing to fluff it constantly, while others found Casper’s customer service to be lacking.
Were these just rare instances or a huge issue? Let’s take a closer look at the Casper Pillow and find out.
Casper Pillow: The Details
- Product Dimensions: 18 x 26 x 2 inches (for King).
- Material Composition: Polyester microfiber filling, polyester fabric lining, and cotton.
- Cover: 100% cotton cover.
- Hypoallergenic: No.
- Warranty: Three-year limited warranty.
Available in Standard and King.
The Casper features a pillow-in-pillow design, built to offer better support and comfort. In practice, this translates to an outer pillow you lay on, which is made of longer polyester microfibers.
Then, inside is a secondary pillow, which provides added cushioning through its shorter polyester microfibers.
This is all wrapped up together by a removable cover, which is composed of 100% cotton. It’s also machine-washable, but should not be run through the dryer.
Casper: The Brand
Founded in 2014 by Philip Kim, Neil Parikh, T. Luke Sherwin, Jeff Chapin, Gabe Flateman, and John Anthony Gillis, Casper started off strictly as a mattress company.
They first obtained funding for the company through Kickstarter and went on to gain investors to continue their products, leading up to the release of their first mattress.
The company has since come out with pillows, as well as dog beds, bed frames, and even reading lights.
Casper Pillow Review
Stand Out Features
- Machine Washable: Thanks to the Casper Pillow’s removable cover, you won’t have to worry about any messes that may occur. Simply remove the cover and pop it in the wash for easy cleaning. This goes for the pillow’s other parts too!
- Stays Cool: If you’re accustomed to tossing around at night because your bedding is too warm, the Casper Pillow will help eliminate that. Thanks to its cotton-weaved construction, you won’t have to fuss for the cooler side of the pillow.
- Great for All Sleepers: This pillow is certainly versatile. You won’t have to be the perfect type of sleeper for the Casper Pillow. It suits a variety of sleepers, helping you stay comfortable and supported in every position.
A pillow isn’t worth much if it isn’t comfortable, but based on tester feedback for the Casper Pillow, this design won’t disappoint.
The Casper is plenty comfortable. With the microfiber filling and the pillow-in-pillow design, your head will be cradled rather than simply propped up.
The multiple layers help to resist sagging, sinking, or hard spots. There’s also no danger of scratchy fabric pressing against your skin, thanks to the 100% cotton cover. You’ll be sleeping like a baby in no time.
While a comfortable pillow is great, a supportive one is even better. No one wants to wake up with aches and pains after a night of sleep.
Luckily, the Casper Pillow’s multi-layer design pairs soft comfort with deeper layers of support, meant to add pressure in certain areas while providing give in others.
Add that to the two-inch gusset, and you’ll experience great neck support, ensuring your spine is properly aligned throughout the night.
As such, not only will you enjoy the plush cushioning, but your body will benefit from the support features as well. This is great for those who commonly wake up with sore joints and muscles.
Easy to Clean
A favorite feature among testers was the removable and washable cover. If morning breakfast or a midnight snack is spilled, you can simply unzip the cover, slide it off, and throw it in the washing machine.
Drying is a similar process that doesn’t take any extra effort. To dry the Casper pillow, use the ‘low heat’ setting of your dryer or – preferably – lay it flat to dry.
Even better, the cover is not the only washable part. The inner pillow can be taken out and cleaned as well. If the Casper starts getting musty or you want to freshen it up in general, throw the inner pillow into the wash and revitalize it.
Casper makes it easy to elongate the lifespan of your pillow with its convenient care instructions. So, you won’t have to worry about babying this pillow if you forget to take your make-up off at night.
Since the cover is 100% cotton with a percale weave, this pillow is completely breathable and stays cool no matter the temperature in your bedroom.
As such, there’s no more waking up sweaty or pushing off your blankets because it’s too hot. The pillow will disperse heat evenly and cycle in new air, ensuring you’re comfortable even during the summer months.
This is awesome news for those of us who tend to sleep on the warmer side. This pillow won’t be contributing to a miserable night’s sleep. Casper ensures this pillow is designed to give you an easy-breezy rest.
Great for All Sleepers
While many pillows are good for specific sleepers, the Casper Pillow accommodates all varieties.
Do you like sleeping on your side, your back, or your stomach? Do you change your mind every night? Then the Casper is ideal, as you will receive the same level of comfort and support either way.
This is especially great for those who toss and turn, since a new sleeping position won’t have you waking up sore.
This feature is also helpful if you want to up the ante on your guestroom, or other bedrooms in your home. It will be easy for your family and guests to adapt to the Casper pillow thanks to its versatility.
A quality pillow that lasts more than a couple of months can cost between up to hundreds of dollars, and that’s just for one.
Luckily, the Casper Pillow is on the lower end. It’s priced at under $100 for both the Standard and the King size on Amazon.
This is a great deal for a pillow that offers comfort, a unique design, support, and washable features. You don’t have to break the bank to afford a quality night’s sleep.
If you’re on a budget, the Casper Pillow is one to seek out that doesn’t skimp on quality. To make the deal even sweeter, Casper gives a 3-year limited warranty to purchasers of the Casper Pillow.
This warranty covers any damages caused in the manufacturing process. Should you find an issue, once you contact Casper, they promise to replace your pillow giving you less to worry about when it comes to the price of comfort.
Needs Regular Fluffing
What’s the biggest complaint about this pillow? It needs to be fluffed regularly. To ensure it supports your head and doesn’t grow flat, fluffing every night – or before day-time naps – will be mandatory.
It’s easy to see how this could become a nuisance. When you’re ready to chill out after a long day, performing maintenance on your pillow isn’t a happy task.
However, if that’s not a deal breaker, this pillow could definitely work for you.
Poor Customer Service
A few testers also had issues with Casper’s customer service. They were either unable to have their problem resolved in a timely manner or the company refused to get back to them at all.
This was a rare issue, however, so their customer service may not be as bad as some testers experienced.
That said, if you purchase through Amazon, you should also be eligible for their stellar customer service as well.
A couple of testers wished there were more sizes available for the Casper Pillow. Currently, on Amazon, you can only buy a Standard size (which is 18 x 26 inches) and a King size (at 18 x 34 inches).
Most brands offer a larger range, and one tester even wanted a pillow greater than a King size. Hopefully, Casper will be unveiling a better variety in the near future.
This video shows what the Casper Pillow looks like out of the box.
After looking over all the positives and negatives, we do recommend the Casper Pillow, but with a few cautions.
Based on tester feedback, most loved how comfortable, supportive, and cool this pillow was. They were able to go to sleep and stay asleep much easier.
However, constant fluffing is an issue for many. Because of the pillow-in-pillow design, you need to guarantee the inner pillow is positioned to your liking before you lay on it each night. If that is too much of a hassle, this is not a pillow for you.
Otherwise, the Casper Pillow seems to be well made, easy to take care of, and gives you a quality sleeping experience.
Where to Buy the Casper Pillow
The Casper brand is a popular one thanks to the success of the Casper Mattress. Backed by celebrities from a variety of niches, Casper might be one of the trendiest bedding brands on the market.
The Casper brand continues to grow as they offer more and more items in their lineup. Thanks to their popularity though, products like the Casper Pillow won’t be hard to find both in-store and online.
While it’s usually best to check bedding and home department stores, you can kick-start your search with the following online retailers.
